Let me just start off by saying that Call of Duty 4 is one of the best multiplayer games I have ever played. With the realism of the weapons and environments this game is right down my alley in what I look for in games. Which, is weird I guess because aren't video games supposed to take you out of reality, anyway that sounds like another good blog post to write about later. Back to the subject, I never really get tired of this game, with the constant leveling up of your classes and weapons it just never gets old. There are different classes of weapons in the game - assault rifles, shotguns, light machine guns, submachine guns and shotguns. Each one of the classes has the ultimate weapon that can be unlocked when you complete Marksman Expert III in each weapon within that class, that weapon is gold and they very rarely are seen within the game when you are playing online. So, this kind of makes them somewhat of a status symbol. I am not the type guy that has to get noticed by having something that no one else has but I like to be rewarded for my hard work. So, my quest is to get the gold weapon in the assault class which is the AK-47. What this requires is, I have to get 150 head shots with each weapon within that class. Not too hard right? Wrong! About 1 in 10 kills result in a head shot, so do the math with 6 weapons in this class. It is a lot of kills! But guess what. I am on the last and hardest weapon to get this on, at 112 0f 150 head shots, and it is dragging on and on. And I am almost embarrassed to talk about it because this has taken a lot of time to complete but I will be so happy to show it off to all the guys in our clan when I get it. I can't wait to hear one of my teammates say, after I die, "Hey Gravy, I just picked up your gold AK, it's freakin' awesome!" You can pick up other players weapons after they die, just for clarification.
This brings me to another point about this game. If I didn't have these friends playing this game with me I would have given it up a long time ago. The reason I say this is because if I go online to play and none of my friends are on, it's just not as fun and I usually play just a few minutes and get off. And, these are actual friends, people I know in real life and knew before I started playing this game or even had a Xbox 360. These are good guys, there is a really good friend that I go to church with, my sister-in-law's husband, a coworker and his 9 year old son, another guy I met through my job that works with another company and two former employees that use to work with the company that I am still with, that have since moved on to work with other companies. I guess what I am trying to say is, video games get a lot of bad press but I think people are looking for the bad and not the good. These guys, with the exception of my sister-in-law's husband and my good friend from church, I would have had no contact with otherwise have become my friends.
Well, I will keep the blog updated as to when I actually accomplish this milestone. This will probably be one of my greatest video game accomplishments. What are yours? Post a comment.

I want to get a gold weapon too, but I don't know which one. I don't care for the AK-47, so I might go after another one.
Well, the shotgun would be fairly easy or the M60. I may try for the M60 next, not sure though.
