My Review Of Poker Smash

Well, I would be writing a review of this game but…
I can’t get my wife off of it long enough to review it! Just kidding! While she has played it quite a bit more than I have, I can say that this game is very addictive. This game from developer Void Star Creations has perfected the puzzle game genre by crossing a Tetris/Bejeweled type game with 5 card poker hands. Also, there are some extras with changing backgrounds, music, fireworks for better poker hands and a fake bank with fake money. All these things add to the lasting appeal of the game and just make it, plain and simply, more fun. The player can make poker hands going vertically or horizontally but cards can only be moved around the board horizontally, which sounds unfair but makes the game more challenging. I think hardcore and casual gamers alike will enjoy this game. I think this is the best Xbox Live Arcade puzzle game to date. My wife and I love it and we even have a little high score competition going (yes she is winning) that gives us an opportunity to spend time together. Checking now… yeah she is playing it as I type this up. This game is well worth the 800 Microsoft Points or $10 in real money. I give this game an almost perfect score because it did exactly what it set out to do and that is to make a fun poker puzzle game.
